Contains procedures & forms for local, state & federal courts in Dallas, Collin, Denton, Johnson, & Kaufman counties, including the U.S. Northern District of Texas.

The 2025 North Texas Bench Book features sections for judges in Denton, Ellis, Kaufman, Rockwall, Tarrant, in addition to Dallas and Collin Counties. We believe that this book will be especially helpful to new attorneys and those who have not practiced in a particular Court before. It also provides seasoned attorneys with updates on each Court’s procedures. We hope that you find the 2025 North Texas Bench Book to be a valuable resource, and we welcome your feedback.

The volume is arranged by court divisions. The first page of each section lists all judges with their address, floor or suite number and phone number. A table of judges with names and pages on which the judge appears in the North Texas Bench Book is found after the table of contents. Local rules for civil courts appear at the front of the Dallas County Courts at Law — Civil section. Please note that these rules also apply to Dallas County Civil District Courts. Finally, an alphabetical index is in the back of the book.

The answers to the questionnaires were provided by the individual judges and have not been substantively edited.

Includes the following updated material:

  • New judges’ profiles added in all counties covered
  • Updated contact information for judges and court staff, with street and mailing addresses, phone numbers, e-mail addresses, and fax numbers
  • Detailed court procedures for all stages of proceedings including pre-trial and trial, as well as alternative dispute resolution
  • Details of newly-formed courts and newly-appointed judges in those courts, including Dallas County Criminal District Courts, Denton County District and Probate Courts, and Tarrant County District Courts
  • Updated links to court websites, including the Supreme Court of Texas, Court of Criminal Appeals, Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and Dallas County and District Courts for easy access to the most current information
