LMA Roles & Compensation Survey

In association with the Legal Marketing Association, the Roles & Compensation Survey is the most comprehensive analytical resource for reviewing and setting compensation for legal marketers and their staff. The Survey examines staffing and compensation of the top marketing positions in law firms with 50 or more attorneys. This information establishes benchmarks related to compensation, benefits, bonus, total cash and stock options for five in-house positions.

METHODOLOGY

This report, conducted by ALM Legal Intelligence on behalf of the Legal Marketing Association, provides an overview of compensation data for lead marketers at law firms in the U.S. and Canada with 50 or more attorneys. Firms and firm contacts were not limited solely to LMA members, but inclusive of all firms that qualify, culled from lists provided by LMA and ALM Legal Intelligence.

Data was collected via e-mail invitations to a Web-based survey conducted between August 21, 2012, and October 15, 2012. Lead marketers at 882 firms who were known to have 50 or more attorneys were invited to respond to the survey. A total of 200 usable responses were received.
