Elizabeth A. Latif

Elizabeth A. Latif is an Assistant Professor of Legal Skills at the Quinnipiac University School of Law, where she teaches in the Legal Skills program. She is also the Principal of the Law Offices of Elizabeth A. Latif PLLC, where she represents individuals in federal criminal appeals. Ms. Latif received a B.A. from Boston University and a J.D. from Boston University School of Law. She was the managing editor of the Boston University Law Review. After law school, Ms. Latif served as a law clerk to the Honorable Christopher F. Droney of the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut, and to the Honorable Chester J. Straub of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.

Ms. Latif has spent two decades practicing law, including as a partner of Day Pitney in Connecticut, an Assistant United States Attorney in New York and Connecticut, and an associate at Ropes & Gray in Boston. At Day Pitney, Ms. Latif worked in the Government Enforcement and White Collar Criminal Defense practice group and the Securities Enforcement Defense practice group.

While Ms. Latif was an Assistant U.S. Attorney in both the Eastern District of New York and the District of Connecticut, she investigated and prosecuted criminal matters involving allegations of investor fraud, money laundering, wire fraud, mail fraud, tax fraud, export control violations, mortgage fraud, international terrorist financing and embezzlement, amongst other allegations, including one of the largest commercial cases out of the New York office of Customs and Border Protection. Ms. Latif is an experienced trial lawyer in both federal and state courts, and has argued numerous cases before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Additionally, Ms. Latif has written several articles in publications such as Law360 and Business Crimes Bulletin.
